Letter to Modi for prevention of murder, in the name of 'J Shri Ram'
A group of 49 celebrities in India has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the murder of 'Shri Ram'.
Writers who wrote letters to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi include well-known film directors, actors and social workers, including celebrities like Anurag Kashyap, Adore Gopalakrishnan, Sahasani Mani Ratnam, Aparna Sen and Konkona Sen Sharma.
The letter states that it is deeply regrettable that in the name of 'J Shri Ram' there have been numerous murders in India so far, including minority communities such as Muslims, Dalits. India is a peaceful country and we are proud to be Indian, but in the recent past there have been incidents in the name of 'Ram' which are very sad.
The letter demanded that 'Ram' is sacred to the majority of India, that it should be used to stop the oppression of minorities.
He said that according to the Constitution of India, any community that belongs to any religion that lives in India has equality and the right to live freely.
A total of 49 Indian personalities signed a letter to Narendra Modi.
