OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro presented with 48 megapixel camera and SD 865

OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. OnePlus has promised that its next phone will cost less than $1000. OnePlus has delivered on this promise by offering the new Pro version for $999, while the other configuration of the phone is $100 cheaper. . 

In contrast, the OnePlus 8 will start at $700. Both new models will go on sale from April 29 on the OnePlus website. In the US, they will also be available for sale on Amazon and other major carriers.

OnePlus 8 Pro

OnePlus 8 Pro has a 6.78-inch Fluid AMOLED screen, the largest of the brand and the first screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is a 10-bit panel that supports HDR10 +. 

The included HDR Boost up scales older 8-bit content. The included MEMC function can convert 24fps video to 120fps. For this big change, OnePlus has also optimized its software accordingly. Unlike the previous Pro model, this phone packs a simple hole-punch camera instead of a pop-up camera. OnePlus 8 Pro is the company's first phone to be IP68 certified. 

For years, OnePlus has been saying that Warp charging technology isn't ready to be unveiled yet, but now the company has unveiled Warp Charge 30 Wireless, which can charge the OnePlus 8 Pro at 30W. You can charge the phone up to 50% in just 30 minutes. 

It also supports reverse charging. The phone's 30W Warp Charge 30T wired charging is pretty fast too. You can charge the phone from 0 to 50 in 23 minutes. This phone has a 4510 mAh battery instead of 4000 mAh compared to the previous version. 

This phone has 2 cameras of 48 megapixels, 1 telephoto lens and 1 assistant module. The main camera of this phone has a 1/1.4-inch Sony IMX689 sensor with a pixel size of 1.12 µm and a pixel binning of 2.24 µm. It has omnidirectional autofocus function for all pixels. The phone's new Single Shot 3-HDR feature can record 4K video at 60fps. It can take three exposures at once and greatly expands the dynamic range. The camera uses a combination of optical and electronic image stabilization. 

The second 48-megapixel camera in this phone is a 120-degree wide-angle lens. The third camera in this phone is an 8-megapixel telephoto module. The 1.0 µm pixel size sensor has an aperture of f/2.4 and is OIS compatible. The fourth module of the phone is a completely new color filter camera that supports the reproduction of many color effects. 

OnePlus Pro 8 has the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The inclusion of LPDDR5 RAM in it increases its performance by 30% and consumes 20% less power than OnePlus 7. This phone has UFS 3.0 type storage. With 5G support, this phone has Wi-Fi 6 with a speed of 9.6Gbps. 

This is faster than a 5G modem at 7.5 Gbps over mmWave connections. The 8GB/128GB storage model of the OnePlus 8 Pro is $899/£799 and the 12GB/256GB model is $999/£899. It will be available in the colors Ultramarine Blue, Glacial Green and Onyx Black.

One plus 8

The OnePlus 8 has a 6.55-inch screen, with a 1080p+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It's not the same panel as the OnePlus 7T. 

It's slightly curved and has a punch hole instead of a notch for the selfie camera. This screen is compatible with HDR10 +. The phone's 48-megapixel main camera has an older IMS 586 sensor, which means it lacks omnidirectional autofocus. Its pixel size is also quite small i.e. 0.8 µm. 

It also supports pixel binning and has mixed OIS + EIS support. The second camera of this phone is wide angle (116 degrees) of 16 megapixels. The phone also has a 2-megapixel macro camera. 

It doesn't have a telephoto camera, but instead a 48-megapixel sensor that offers 2x zoom via crop. The phone has a 4,300mAh battery that provides 13% more capacity than the 7T. It is compatible with Warp Charge 30T via USB-C. You can charge up to 50% in 22 minutes. 

This phone does not support wireless charging. Just like the Pro model, this phone also has a Snapdragon 865 chipset. It is also offered with 8GB RAM/128GB storage and 12GB RAM/256GB storage. 

This phone has slightly slower LPDDR4X RAM than the previous phone. This phone supports 5G and Wi-Fi 6. Verizon has offered a special version of this phone, which has a faster mmWave. Both phone models have a fingerprint reader under the screen. Both support Dolby Atmos with stereo speakers. 

The base model of the OnePlus 8 will cost $700 or £599 and the upgraded storage model zed will cost $800/£699. The phone will be offered in Interstellar Glow, Glacial Green, and Onyx Black colors. A Verizon-exclusive Polar Silver color will also be offered.
