Apple introduced iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max with 5G, bigger screen and better cameras

Apple has also entered the 5G era. All four models introduced by Apple this year have sub-6 versions of 5G and mmWave technology, thanks to which the phone can reach download speeds of up to 4 Gbps. This speed is currently only available on Verizon in the US. This year's iPhone Pro models come in two sizes. The size of the iPhone 12 Pro is 6.1 inches and the size of the iPhone Pro Max is 6.7 inches. In the iPhone 11 series, it was 5.8 and 6.5 inches.

The slim frame makes this phone look a bit bigger. As before, both models have an OLED display, with a 60Hz refresh rate. For a phone with a higher refresh rate, users will have to wait until next year Apple has included a notch in the phone, which means that Apple has not committed to Face ID due to the fingerprint reader under the screen. The resolution of the new iPhone is slightly higher than that of previous models. The Pro model has a resolution of 1,170 x 2,532 pixels and the Pro Max has a resolution of 1,284 x 2,778 pixels.

The maximum screen brightness is still 1200 nits. To protect the screen, Apple once again partnered with Corning to develop a ceramic screen protection material, which is 4 times better than previous glass when it comes to protecting the phone from drops.

The company has also updated the phone's design, bringing it closer to the iPad Pro. As before, the phone's chassis is made of stainless steel. This time, the company has introduced a new Pacific Blue version along with Gold, Gray and Silver colors. The iPhone 12 is also better than before when it comes to water resistance. If they stay in the water up to 6 meters deep for 1 hour, they will not be damaged. Earlier phones had the feature only up to 4 meters deep. When it comes to cameras, these two Pro models are not the same.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max starts at 1/1.7” (1.7µm pixels). It's 47 percent larger than the iPhone 12 Pro and earlier 11 Pro Max. The f/1.6 aperture allows 87 percent more light to reach its sensor. Apple has also changed the image stabilization to use sensor shift.

This gives the camera a fast performance of 5,000 adjustments per second. The ProMax model has a longer focal length on the zoom camera, allowing for two and a half times more zoom, and incorporates OIS through lens-based focusing.

The iPhone 12 also has a brighter f/1.6 lens, but it retains the old sensor with the lens. This sensor now captures 27 percent more light. The Vanilla Pro has an older telephoto camera with an f/2.0 lens and a 52mm focal length, which means it offers twice the zoom of the main camera. Apart from this, the classic OIS has been included in this phone. All cameras now support ultra-wide and night modes, including the selfie camera. This is possible thanks to the phone's new chipset. The phone's ultra-wide camera features an f/2.4 lens with a 120-degree field of view (13mm focal length).

This year, Apple has adopted the LiDAR system from the iPad Pro to the iPhone Pro. This enables Night Mode Portrait. Reduces autofocus lock speed by 6 times in the dark. iPhone 12 Pro models are the only phones with Dolby Vision video for recording. The phone's new ProRAW feature captures everything the RAW format requires.

The new iPhones know how to use 5G.

When high speed is not needed, the phone's smart data feature automatically switches to 4G to save battery life. The biggest innovation for phone battery charging is MagSafe, used by MacBook fans. This time uses wireless charging. This time around, its charging speed has increased from 7.5 watts to 15 watts for Qi charging. Also, Apple has reduced the load out of the box this time. Now, along with the phone, users will get a USB-C to Lightning cable that will allow the phone to connect to a MacBook.

Apple says that this will reduce carbon emissions in the environment. This move by Apple is a step towards carbon neutrality by 2030. Apple has used the Apple A14 Bionic chipset in both iPhone Pros. It is the world's first chipset built on 5nm, with 11.8 billion transistors. This is 40% more than the A13. It includes two large CPU cores and 4 small cores that provide 50% more performance than previous models.

Likewise, the 4-core GPU also increases performance by 50 percent over the previous model. It is also 70% better in terms of machine learning. One of the main reasons to buy the Pro models is more storage space. And this time Apple has offered it with 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB upgrade options. The price of the iPhone 12 Pro will start at $1,000. Its pre-orders will start on Friday and it will be available next week. Pricing for the Pro Max starts at $1100. Pre-orders will start on November 6th and go on sale on November 13th.
